I would highly recommend the Ian Cubitt's organisation and it's granny flat building concept. My wife and I through late 2012 dealt with this company and others in the market place. I personally researched different companies who have the expertise in the granny flat market. My first impression started with a simple phone call and I requested brochures about their product. It was not a problem and from this first initial phone call the excellent service began. I received the brochures to my Queensland address, with the three granny flats being considered for construction in Sydney.
A few days later I received a follow up phone call, through just simple courtesy. Not long after this I dealt with Mr Adam Vincze, as promised he met me on all three sites in Sydney at the same time with the other selected granny flat company. The competition did not last long when only Adam could answer all the hard questions with all the right answers. I kept a record of everything said and discussed.
I then visited their showroom at Emu Plains and even the reception staff appreciated my time even before they knew my intentions of building up to five granny flats.
I did have problems with variations adding to my fixed price contracts, from me not knowing that their could be such a thing. I did make a formal complaint about these added costs. In the end Ian Cubitt's has changed their process in going on site and trying their best to make this process more transparent to the layperson that I am. Ian Cubitt even offered me a full unconditional refund at this stage because of the variation mix up.
The contracts were subject to finance approval which did take some time to come through from my financial institution. Ian Cubitt and Adam Vincze were very patient during this process of waiting and even held their pricing, although their contract probably said any price rise could be passed on, it wasn't. They were absolutely fabulous from this point on.
In 2013 finance approval came through for us and the whole process was now in their hands - Ian Cubitt and his team were amazing. All council issues, criterias and standards were met in and by their capable professional hands. Amanda and Jayne were also willing to discuss anything in the account side and the payment structure was very easy and smooth to understand. Their site foreman Mr Peter Maasland was outstanading with nothing ever a problem and he continually went above and beyond to meet and exceed all expectations even after the granny flats were completed and paid for in full.
Now business and return for myself and my wife. For the three completed granny flats that have all been tenanted within the month after completion. One was leased prior to completion with the help of Ian Cubitt and his company. We paid over $320,000 for the three granny flats, return in total equals $1,035 per week. That is over $53,000 per year. Great returns.
I can highly recommend this concept and furthermore the Ian Cubitt organisation, my advice is ask for Adam Vincze personally. You won't go wrong!!
